It's me Truman. Just wanted to fill everyfur in, my ear is almost completely normal now. It takes time fur these things to heal and the swelling is almost nonexistent. With the help of a clown collar my ear made great progress, now I only wear it part of the day. The biggest problem was me scratching at it with my claws.
Anyway!
On June 28th my Food Girl J will be going on a vacation and not returning fur three whole weeks at which time she will return fur two days and then be gone another three weeks! Not to worry Food Girl lives with Mom, Brother, and Dad so I will be taken care of as I ALWAYS am. Plus I can go visit my Gramma and Uncle Rocky all Summer long! IF YOU TRY TO CONTACT ME DURING THESE VACATION TIMES I WILL BE UNABLE TO RESPOND, DO NOT WORRY ALL IS WELL. FOOD GIRL IS THE ONE WHO MONITORS MY DOGSTER ACTIVITIES AND BLOG, SO I WILL DEFINITELY GET BACK TO YOU IN DUE TIME. SORRY FUR ANY INCONVENIENCE. Hi there this is Truman's human typing!
I just gave Truman a bath recently and I bought him a new brand of flea color which I slipped around his neck along with his collar about a day ago. He started flapping his ear a lot and scratching it. I removed both of his collars and checked out his ear. It seems a little purplish near the inside. The lymph nodes around his neck/ear are NOT swollen or puffy. His ear flap is puffy. There is no fluid, blood, discharge or foul odor. The pain does not seem to be coming from the ear canal, it seems to be based on the puffy part of the ear flap. He keeps shaking his head which I'm sure is not helping. He does not have a history of ear trouble or infection in anyway. His collars will be staying off until his ear gets better.
Could this be a hematoma? Do you think this may be an allergy or bug bite? He is eating and behaving completely normally now that I have removed his collars.
Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated!
