my Mom!!

I am writing this about a special little pup in my Mom's life long ago! This is about precious, Pooky, the wonder dog! She was a very small black with copper trim pup that Mom had as a child! She was probably a Chihuahua mix because she was just a tad bigger than ChaCha! Okay, Here goes...

I guess Mom was about eight or nine, and her younger sister, and three cousins were playing hide and seek one afternoon! Pooky was running along behind as always! Well, Mom climbed up in a big pine tree and was hiding way up high but she could see everything going on down below! Just as she was quieting down in her wonderful choice of a hiding spot, this car full of teenagers came driving very fast down the road and purposely cut their wheel and hit Pooky! Mom jumped right out of the top of that pine tree and ran to Pooky screaming! Mom's sweet and wonderful Dad carried Pooky into the kitchen and laid her over in the corner! We were a wealthy family in love, but not in money! Pooky could not stand! Her hind legs were paralyzed! Mom's Dad and Mother, and Aunt's & Uncle's were trying to explain that Pooky needed to go to the Vet and be put down! She was suffering! Mom was sitting on the floor crying on the other side of the room! She would not listen to them! She was devastated!
Just then, Pooky got up and somehow threw her hind legs up in the air like a circus dog and walked to my Mom balancing just on her front legs! She collapsed in her lap!
This is where Pooky would have written a note saying to my Mom..."I know how much you love me, and I love you back that much, it's okay!"
The adults were crying at this point too! They made a bed in the garage for Pooky. A little box was put out there so that she could be watched for a few days, but the parents kept having the talk with my Mom, and her sister! A few days later, Mom's Dad said that it must be done! The next morning we were to take Pooky to the Vet to have her put out of her misery! Mom did not want to go to bed. She did not want to get up the next morning! She slowly got up and went to get dressed, but the next thing she heard was Pooky barking like mad! Mom ran to the window and Pooky was after the trash collectors! Wow! Pooky was running as if nothing had happened! She was okay!
Pooky lived a long and much loved life after this!

See what a big & happy heart I own in my Mom! I have just as big a heart for her in return!

Pooky you will never be forgotten!
