Reilly's blood work came back. He tested positive for heart worm.
That's pretty surprising, considering our adoption contract says that he was heart worm free, and his foster mother told us that she had him on a heart worm preventative the entire time she had him. It was some prescription-free thing from Australia.
When we adopted him, we put him on Heartgard, since we had success with it with Xena and Zeus.
So he's going for a chest x-ray tomorrow to see what kind of damage has been done.
NOT. HAPPY. RIGHT. NOW.
Oh no, Reilly! We are all so sorry you have those horrible heartworms. Hope it is a very light case and they will be gone very soon. Sending lots of love.
Tank yew, Sylvie! Dey are in my heart and lungs and some surrounding veins now but my hoomans are gonna kill dah BAD WORMIES!!!!! Dey not happy wid my rescue people rite now tho.
I feel a little of your pain, Reilly. The Humane Society told my mom and dad that I was spayed. BOL! Oh well, as of Tuesday, I REALLY am. The HS also told them I didn't have heartworms. Now the pawrents are scared that wasn't right either. I'm so sorry you have to have that heartworm treatment, but I know your family will do all the best things for you. You are a loved doggie now, Reilly, and that is the most wonderful thing! Sending strength to you and your family.
