Bow Wowzers! Mom took me and my sister Karmen to the pool for the FIRST TIME yesterday! I've never ever SEEN so much water in all my furry little life, I thought I was gunna drown! Good gracious, sooo glad my Mom was there to keep me safe! And I had my floatie with me, oh wait that wasn't a floatie that was Karmen. I kept trying to stand on her back to get out of the water. Karmen has slightly longer legs than I do, and well, I'm kind of fat, soooo I got tired....I needed a break from swimming soooo I wanted to stand on my sister, but noooo Mom wouldn't let me, she's no fun at all!
If you look at my pics Mom posted you'll see the pics of me swimming, and trying to stand on my sister.
I was a bit of a bossy gal at the pool. I'm sorry, but she's MY MOM and I didn't want the other dogs getting close to her (cept Karmen).
You see my Mom goes off and leaves me and Karmen home every single Friday morning to go work at the shelter. She photographs all the dogs there, and helps walk them and helps bathing too sometimes. Usually she just gets to photograph them though and that keeps her pretty busy! Then when she comes home she sets about editing them to make those dogs look very nice. But Mom always smells like all of those other dogs, and like that place called "the shelter" I don't like that smell!
Mama says that's where my furry MOM ended up was at the shelter! It was horrible! Can you believe it, someone sent my FUR MOM to the SHELTER! Of all the rotten things to do. But my Human Mom worked really really hard to get her OUT of the shelter (alive). She got her into a rescue group where she was spayed (she had a LOT of puppies and was part of a back yard breeder it was really sad, they didn't want me because I was not "perfect" I don't know what they talkin' bout I'm absoLUTELY perfect and Mom says so EVERY day (even when I try to stand on the table to get to the kdids food! I'm perfect, but I can get in trouble sometimes, but only sometimes.
Anyway, I'm so glad my Mom helped my Fur Mommy get out of the shelter and into a better life, that's awesome! That's what Mom does she helps other dogs. That's why she took me in, and that's why she took in my sister Karmen too.
People were being real real mean to Karmen. She had been run over by a car, kicked like a football off of a porch, teased, poked, hit, and all kinds of awful things. They threw her outside with winter coming and no one fed or watered her and she ran around the neighborhood getting into bad bad trouble (she was going down a bad bad street she was going to get caught by da Animal Control and would have ended up at da shelter and at that time...it would have been bad because Mom wasn't helping there yet, and with her leg injury she would have been put down!!! Mommy really really saved her life!
She saw how much I LOVED Karmen we played together all the time. Mom knew Karmen wasn't getting care for but knew SOMEONE "owned" her as a collar would appear and disappear off her neck occasionally. So she went on a search. A search for Karmen's "family" (more like abusers). Mom found them. And told them she was taking their dog. They didn't even care!!!
Yippee!! That meant, I had a little sister!! A furry one.
Karmen and I may fight sometimes, because I'm kind of bossy, and controlling and I hate sharing. BUT Karmen is my sister and no one better mess with her or you'll be sorry. Our Mama will get you, and so will I.
Karmen is still really shy sometimes, and doesn't like some people, and new situations kind of scare her too. Like going to the Doggy Dive In kind of scared her because she wasn't used to getting socialized before and Mom hasn't really been able to take us to too many places. Though we do love a trip to the dog park!
I think my sister handled the pool really good, and Mom says I did pretty good too. She just wished I hadn't been so barkie at the other dogs. I can't help it, she's MY Mommy, but Mama said I can't act like that and we're going to have to work on it. *sigh* Ok Mom, whatever you say. You lead and I will follow, or atleast do my best.
My little human siblings just started preschool last week, and they are really loving it so far. But I'm kind of bored while they are gone. I have no kids to play with! But that does mean I can take a nap a lot more, which is nice! AND I get Mom to myself, ok so I have to share her with Karmen, and I don't like that sometimes either.
Mom is already talking about dressing us girls up for Halloween. This will be Karmen's first halloween with us, LOL haha little does she know Mommy looooves to put us in costumes! Last year I was a freaking Teradactyl!! Yep. A flying DINOSAUR! The human twin boys went as T Rex's so I was a dino too.
This year? I'm going as Little Red Riding Hood (Mommy got all the stuff to make my costume). Karmen is going as a Wolf in Sheeps Clothing. Hahahaha. She's gonna be a sheep, how funny is that? Hopefully Karmen won't be "Baaaaaaad" *giggle*
We're going as "Favorite books" for Halloween at our house. The human girl child, is going as her favorite book Charachter, Fancy Nancy. I love it when Mom reads that story! Mom reads Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy nearly EVER night to us! Karmen, Mom, Kams (my human sister), and myself snuggle up on Kams bed and Mom reads us that story. I like it because the nice girl in the story adopts a dog from the shelter, which is absolutley FANTASTIC! She didn't go to a pet store, she saved a dog that was in need of a home, those are the best dogs ever. Ones you save! (Karmen, Mommy and I agree rescued dogs are the bestest!)
Mom hasn't decided what the twin human boys are going as, they are Marshall and Keegan. They are 3, and they can be a pain in the neck, but I love them, specially when they play tug of war! And slip me food under the table at supper time! YUM! (Mom says I need to cut back on the table food though and stop begging the boys for food, and lay off the Twizzler Pull and Peels) I can't HELP IT! I love them, but Mom says that stuff ISN'T good for me. But I think it TASTES great!! (Someone ought to tell Mom though that her soda is bad for her and her sweet tea! HA! Take that Mom!) I won't go near her coffee, she has to have her coffee, it's a necessity of a morning.
For now, I have to go. My little humans are home from preschool so it's time to play with them, and try to beg some of their chicken nuggets from them, let's see how quick I can be before Mom catches me!
Miss Molly!
