Last week BJ stopped eating and drinking and seemed very lethargic. We thought he had pancreatitis and tried treating him for that but it didn't help. We did blood work on Friday and it showed his kidneys weren't doing good. Over the weekend we gave him lots of fluids under his skin. On Monday we did blood work again and his kidneys were much worse. We then had another ultrasound done and it showed that his cancer had already covered his liver, was affecting his lymph nodes, and that he also had blood in his belly. Both the vet and ultrasound Dr. were shocked at how fast the cancer attacked him...only about two and a half weeks.

We were going to pick him up and bring him home and have one last night with him and then the vet was going to come to our house and put him to sleep. When we got to the vets BJ looked so tired. It wasn't my BJ. The distant look in his eyes told me he could not fight anymore and was ready. We could not bring him home and have him suffer through another night.

We spent about a half hour alone with him and gave him lots of hugs and tear filled kisses. Then the vet came in and put him to sleep while we held him. My beautiful baby boy took his last breath in my arms.

We are devastated about BJ's loss and how quickly the cancer killed him.
