Crazy Weekend

I have had a crazy weekend!! On Saturday I decided to scare the crap out of my Mommy.....BOL!! But it back fired a little bit in that she ended up taking me to the vet.....so that part didn't work out so well but I did get to take a car ride and get tons of attention! So here is what happened, Mommy and Daddy took Eva and I for a walk in the morning, we came back to the house and instead of laying down and sleeping like I usually do I started pacing. Mommy thought maybe I needed to go to the bathroom ( she calls me a pooping machine) so she let me outside. But instead I decided to start eating grass and I mean eating grass like I was mowing the lawn. Mommy said I was acting just like a horse! I ate alot of grass.........and then I started vomiting.....This freaked Mommy out! ( She is very obsessed with us as daddy calls it) I guess I vomited lots of times. Next thing I know Mommy is loading me in the Jeep and asking me to not vomit in the car! And where did we go instead of somewhere fun but the vet...not what I had in mind. They touched my tummy and took my temp. and you know put things up my butt!! Which was so not cool! I tried to avoid it but it was three against one! No getting around that! Everything came out fine, which was a huge relief to Mommy. She always worries about my tummy, something about it turning over....I don't know but everything was fine! Well except for the vomiting. Mommy admits she may have freaked out a bit but she told Daddy its better to be safe than sorry especially on a weekend, something about it being easier on the wallet.
And the next day of my crazy weekend Mommy and Daddy loaded me and Eva up in the car and took us to PetsMart to take pictures with Santa!! It was crazy busy! I have never seen so many people and doggies before! And for some reason everyone always wants to pet me...I must be pretty good looking! They always exclaim at how big I am! And then when they find out I'm just a puppy they are even more astounded! I don't mind all of the attention though and I let everyone pet me! Mommy says I am a very good boy! Especially because Eva doesn't always want everyone to pet her and some people forget to ask these things. Our picture turned out awesome though and Mommy says it benefits the Montgomery County Humane Society for other doggies without homes. Daddy made Mommy look at all the doggies who needed homes. Mommy says she hates too because she can't handle their sad little eyes and if she had her way she would take them all! Well now I'm exhausted...I think i'll take a nap right here on the couch and recuperate.

Rain, rain go away!!

Four days!!! Four days we have been stuck in the house with all the rain. Its getting rough not being able to run outside in the yard, having my paws wiped everytime I come in the house, being all wet and not allowed on the bed, and having barely any room to run around with Eva. Plus daddy isn't here to play rough house with! Mommy makes me be very gentle with her I'm not allowed to tug her around on my leash or lean on her too much because sometimes shes not expecting it and she has too work to keep her balance! Thats ok though because I'm a very gentle guy its just trying to ignore my puppy instincts that tell me to PLAY PLAY PLAY! My pal Eva has been playing with me alot more than she used too! We battle over all the toys and get stuffing all over the floor! Its epic.....but I wish it would stop raining soon so we can take walks outside again!! My first winter and I already don't like it....hope it gets better soon!

What to do about the wandering dogs in our neighborhood???

We recently moved to a new neighborhood with lots of doggies and lots of fenced in yards. This is the third time in two months i've seen loose dogs wandering down my street.The dogs clearly are not strays and belong somewhere. We don't know too many of our neighbors yet and I never really sure which house the dogs are from. I don't want to bring them to my house ( Eva is very territorial) what do I do? Pick them up and take them to the humane society or let them keep wandering the neighborhood ( its a big sprawling southern one)?? I want to help but I dont want to me or my dogs at risk. Any suggestions?

Alright Angry Dog Blog Today!!

Yes, an angry dog blog! The reason I am so angry........irresponsible dog owners! You make me angry.

Here is the situation: Every morning around 10am I take both my dogs for a walk around our neighborhood. (We just moved in a month ago) Now in our neighborhood practically everyone has a dog but everyone also has a fenced in yard for their dogs. Anyway here we are walking down the street like we do everyday minding our own business and I notice the one cul-a-sac that we usually walk down has children outside playing in the front yard. Well I don't usually like to walk the dogs past kids because they always want to pet them and quite frankly I don't always want them too for liability reasons. Anyway so I decided to skip and cul-a-sac and walk past but all of a sudden a dog from the same house comes running up out of nowhere, runs through two yards right in the street and attacks my dogs! Ok so it wasn't a full on dog fight but there was posturing and growling and contact and then the dog realizing it wasn't going to win ( Eva is pretty B.A.) backed off and ran back. I was astounded. Never once did the owner ever come out to yell at the dog and help control the situation and see if everything was alright.

My Point: You don't leave your two year old child outside to watch the dog. You don't leave a dog unattended outside in a residential neighborhood. You should always have a collar with identification tags on your dog. If you know your dog has impulse control issue keep him in your backyard with the fence. It is important to socialize your dog.

Thankfully everyone is fine I was perhaps the most scared. But seriously Poor Eva has bad hips and doesn't need to be stressed. Poor Clyde is still a puppy and working on his socialization and this certainly didn't help.

GGGRRRRRRRRR............irresponsible dog owners.

Back from the Vet!

Just got back from the vet! It was a great experience, I would highly recommend it there. Clyde weighed in at 117lbs! He is catching up to me real quick! haha! Ridiculous! He got his heartworm test and pills. I thought it would be colder in our new home but nope! Year round heartworm it is! Clyde was so nervous about being somewhere new he totally peed in the room! I was so embarrassed! I've been trying to work with him on his submissive peeing, doing more obedience, keeping the same happy tone of voice and ignoring his little pee dribbles but he was so nervous at the vet today it didn't matter. Poor little guy. I hope he grows out of it soon. I've never had this problem with a dog before but I sure am running through carpet cleaner real fast. Any other suggestions? Id be more than happy to try them out!

Vet today

Today we are going to vet, yes two big dogs and me!! It worries me:)They are well behaved but sometimes dogs will just be dogs! Thankfully those gentle leaders should help; I'm a huge believer! And its not raining today so we are going for a walk around the neighborhood before we leave; the wonders of good behavior and exercise! It took me forever to choose a vet to go to here ( just recently moved) I finally settled on St. Bethlehem Animal Clinic not reviewed on Dogster but on Google, if its a good experience I'll add it here!

Weight

I was weighed today! 110lbs! I sure am growing! Soon I'm going to out weigh my mommy! She is going to take me to Petsmart soon for a gentle leader in case I decide to chase something while she is walking me!
