Arrival Story: I had sworn off ever having another dog after we had my pal, Bear (Border Collie mix), of 15 years put down. But then one day I found myself crying as I walked through the dog section of a local store and I knew it was time. I found Skye through an ad in the newspaper. She had 8 brothers and sisters, and they all looked different. We originally thought she was Lab and Great Dane--we called her a Dane-a-dor, but now I believe she's a Catahoula Leopard Dane-a-dor!
Bio: Due to poor breeding and her parents being too old, she started out with a lot of health problems from a compromised immune system. She has had almost every kind of worm, has struvite crystals and has to be on medication for life, and had demodectic mange--so her first year with us was a little rocky. To make up for it, she is the sweetest dog I have ever known, and was a breeze to train. She gives us a good laugh with her antics at least once a day, and gives us TONS of love. She's the BEST!
