Arrival Story:
I volunteered for Rolling Dog Ranch, a place for disabled animals in Ovando, Montana. They are relocating the sanctuary to Lancaster, New Hampshire, and shipping off the animals on 05/24/10. I had to make a move as I have always loved them all but Moose was the 'one' that I felt would fit with our existing pack. So yesterday I picked him up and brought him to his furever home! Moose's story is that the police department in Conrad, Montana, had found him wandering on the Interstate back in February 2009. Every effort was made in trying to find an owner but nobody claimed him. Had someone abandoned this blind dog in freezing temperatures? Finally in April 2009, someone called Rolling Dog Ranch and asked if they could take him. Moose is now here to stay and will NEVER be left in the cold again.

Bio:
I'm blind! Before Moose got to the ranch, he was checked over by the sanctuary's vet. Moose is blind from progressive retinal atrophy (PRA). We will keep a close look out on him to make sure his eyes do not become painful. After much research, we found Moose's breed to be an English Labrador.

Moose or Brian?

This is weird. For the last few days we have had Moose, I keep calling him Brian??? I finally put 2-n-2 together and realized why. Moose is such a laid back dog with such a wrinkly face that he reminds me of that hound, Brian, from the movie Sweet Home Alabama (starring Reese Witherspoon for those who are not familiar with the movie).

Although I am still sticking with the name Moose--I could not find a name to fit him any better! Photos just do not show how massive this guy really is!

P.S. I hope all the Rolling Dog Ranch (www.rollingdogranch.org) fans keep tabs on Moose and visit Dogster often :) Thank you all again for your blessings!

It's official, Moose is here to stay!!!

Now I have a permanent memory of my volunteer work at Rolling Dog Ranch (www.rollingdogranch.org). Thanks Rolling Dog! New Hampshire is lucky to have you!

Please send us your good luck and vibes for blind Moose!

At this time, this is a possible situation. I volunteer for Rolling Dog Ranch, a place for disabled animals in Ovando, MT (www.rollingdogranch.org). They are relocating the sanctuary to Lancaster, NH and would like to take a few memories with me before they leave. What better than adopting Moose??!! Moose is a blind lab found abandoned roaming the streets of a small town. I am going to pick him up tomorrow and see how he does with the rest of our crazy clan! I am SOOO excited--please keep your fingers crossed for this big guy that he has a furever home!
