What's going on in January on the ND Prairie???????
Well, the holidays have exhausted the old folks. So, we've
been turning in a little earlier than normal....
Maybe the long winter evenings and the severe cold have
something to do with that???? It was -17 this morning
without the chill factored in. BBBBUUUUURRR!!!!!!!! See
why I stay inside with Gma??????? Poor Gpa, trucks out
there, all bundled up in his layers of winter. Scooping
and dumping 5 gal pails of grain to the calves and yearlings.
He then starts a tractor, that was plugged in all night
long...let's it warm up! So, he comes back inside, sheds
all those outside things, has a warm cup of coffee. Some
cookies or a piece of fruit. Out he goes again, to feed
hay to the calves, yearlings and stock cows... By the time
he comes back, it is almost lunch time! I'm already
tired from watching him put clothes on and take clothes
Gma scurries around with morning chores, while raising her
energy level with morning caffeine. I drag out of bed last!
If I'm really late about it...she BOOTS me out to make the
bed! Today we had brunch of sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns
wheat and rye toast. I had a WHOLE EGG I didn't share with
anyone! I LOVE BRUNCH!!!!!!
We had prime rib for supper on New Year's Day. Since there
just 2 of them....We froze a meal and left another meal out.
Tonight we are have prime rib, baked potato, salad, peas, broccoli
for supper. I'm pretty sure,I'll have some...I really liked it
on the 1st.!
We are glad the Holidays are over. Everyone was pooped out!
They were a Blast! I have alot of new stuffies to play with.
A whole pail of assorted treats for 2015. It's great to be
the ONLY FUR!!!!!!!!!!
We are defrosting ground beef to make jerky. The kids and
grand-kids wanted some. Gma ran out of time to do it before
Christmas. So,she said, we will get started and make enough
for their Valentine's Boxes. She sends to her Mom and sister
She told Gpa,she is taking Jan/Feb to try and figure out the
ins/outs of her laptop, tablet and new kindle. Told him,she
only plans to keep house, feed us,go on the supply runs with him
and let me play at dogster. Read of course.....She read a good
300 books in 2014. She likes this Kindle Paperwhite. Said, no
matter how ugly the weather....she will never run out of books.
She keeps a supply here..but with the push of a button she can
have a new book. While she likes her little tablet and reads on
it too...Games,emails and surfing.....She found out,it didn't
work outside in nice weather, due to glare. Problem solved with
the paperwhite. Bring on spring and tons of sunshine! When we are
done working,we can sit on the patio, enjoy the furniture, read
until supper time.
I've been playing with stuffies, chewing on cow ears, cleaning my
toophers on greenies...I always save time to create a new
masterpiece on the living room window. I'm sure, someday I'll
be in Monet's league. I do my best to leave art for Gma, that
reminds her of living plants. The barn kitties continue to
torture me, by running up and down our roof, playing tag!!!!!!
What is wrong with them?????????? It's a 2 story house! They
climb on the barn roofs too! Still Gma cooks for them??????
I heard her say, time to do a crockpot of beef liver for them.
They can have their stinky liver!!!! I'll share the table meats.
Not that I wouldn't EAT IT, but Prime Rib or Steak are better!
Better go, as I want to zoom around to some of my groups.
Have a Pawsome 2015 ! I sure hope it is warmer and nicer at
your house than at my house!
Hugs and Kisses, Mazy

Just Poppin' in to say,MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR
to all the Furs here at dogster and catster. On behalf of the
PONDEROSA ANGELS: Baby and Foxie, who were joined by Precious
the kitty, this past March....All nominated Me, the Ponderosa
Princess, Mazy the doxie to speak for us all.....
We'd like to thank all the pals who mailed us cards to help
us celebrate the Holidays. Thank all the furs, pups and kits,
that prettied our pages for the season. The pmails and emails
to stay in touch. We Love You ALL and pray for a Pawsome 2015
for each of you!
We tried very hard to keep up with all our pals. Juggling
several sites while waiting to see what would happen with
our Beloved Dogster/Catster...proved to be an overwhelming
task for my dogatary. Finally, she admitted it was an....
IMPOSSIBLE task to add to her workload. Now that our site
has been bought out and is being rebuilt...We HOPE in the
FUTURE, many of the pals will Return here. If not, we will
consider ourselves Blessed for the Time in which our Paths
and Paws Crossed in this World.
I'll be back after the Holidays to Report on Our Christmas
here on the Prairie. Better sign off, places to go and people
ALL OUR LOVE, MAZY

Today it was 43,partly cloudy with a light breeze.
The nicest day in a very long time. Gpa took me out to
sniff and hunt after dinner. We were out almost a whole
hour. The longest,I've been out in AAAGGGGGGEEESSS!!!!!
Well, I sniffed and kicked a Rabbit out of the hay bale
yard. It wasn't as big as the famous Rabbit, called
Harvey from the old movies. It was a close 2nd....
It wasn't a cotton-tail either! The coyotes have wiped
out my herd of cottontails.
This was a Big Jack Rabbit! Do ya know, what they are?
He was 80% white...Does that mean a long snowy winter?
Besides the severe Jan/Feb temps,we've been having....
BACK to my story.......I was temporarily derailed!
I saw him,he saw me...WowZer the race was on! He ran
and I chased him. Did I catch him,you ask??? NOPE, I
hate to say,he got away! Wasn't my fault, his legs
are much longer than mine. He can cover a lot of
ground with just a few springs of his hind footies!
I was so excited when I came inside. I had to tell
Gma about my Big Jack that got away! I was so hungry,
I ran off all my dinner. So I had some special pup
cookies made by Canine Cuisine. They are red, green
and plain for the Holidays. Shaped like paw prints,
pup bowls, fire hydrants and bones. I got them from
my hooman sister....a prize Gma won at Thanksgiving
Day family games. They are Pawsome! Then off for
a really big NAP......
I woke up and I pawed on my Christmas cards and
letters. I started yodeling at 4:30,as I was starved
and wanted supper Early!!!! So I ate and then
waited for the old folks meal. I snagged some
baked sweet potato,a couple green and yellow beans,
a bite of rye bread and then had my venison bites.
It was PAWSOME DAY! It was such a thrill after
watching Gma with laundry and floor scrubbing.
I was totally bored with All of that!
HOPE, it was a pawsome Sunday at your house....
Probably the highlight of my week. Since there are
2 basketball games this week. The servicing of the
car, plus a factory recall. Some Christmas shopping
and supplies for the Ponderosa.
Catch ya later, huggies, mazy
