Well, this will be my last diary entry and in a couple of weeks my profile will probably disappear from Dogster because. . . drumroll please. . . I just got ADOPTED!!!
Yep, I finally got a family of my very own. The day started off pretty weird though. Foster mom came and got me and put me in that horrible tub thing for a bath. Ugh, I hate baths. I fought with her a little, but pretty soon settled down because well, you can't really fight foster mom for very long. She is way more strong willed than me. She even trimmed my toe nails afterwards.
After that it was off to see the vet. I saw a crazy dog come out of the back and a man in the waiting room started laughing and said, 'Yep, that one's mine.' That dog was so crazy it scared the other doggie that was waiting, but not me. Heck, growing up with foster mom and the pack I'm used to crazy. Anyway, after sitting in the waiting room for awhile they finally got me a room ready. The vet tech came in and talked to me some and tried to give me a treat, but I no better than to take candy from strangers. I did walk out of the room with him so I could get weighed and have a little blood drawn. Then, I stayed with foster mom some more until the vet came to see me. He said I looked wonderful and am a great boy. He could still remember my puppy days when I first came in and was such a mess. I'm a healthy boy now! He shook foster mom's hand and then it was time for us to head back home.
Foster mom had to go somewhere when we got home. She said something about a car tag, the bank, and medicine. I stayed with foster grandma while she was gone and had a good time exploring the house. Foster mom came back after awhile and then she got out all the food bowls and started feeding everyone. I wouldn't eat. I'm just sooooo not used to being inside that I just wasn't sure if it was proper to eat in the house or not. Foster mom said that was okay, my adopter would feed me when I got home.
I hung out with foster mom and her dogs for a few hours and then finally the fated knock at the door. The door opened and there was a man in a red shirt with grey hair looking at me. He said, 'Is this him?' and foster mom said, 'It sure is.' Foster mom told him I was a little nervous and then handed him the leash and told him I'd calm down if he took me for a little walk. Well once again, foster mom was spot on. I really enjoyed walking with my new dad. He let me smell some things and talked to me real nice and even gave me a few pats on the head. After awhile him and foster mom exchanged some papers and then shook hands. Foster mom told him to have fun and then I got in the truck and was off to my new home.
It's been a long road guys, but I finally made it. A big thank you to all of you who followed my story and sent well wishes through the years. Love you guys!
