This morning, we awoke to a blanket of snow on the ground! Surprise! FM was annoyed because the weather people weren't predicting much snow for this part of Long Island, yet there it was - at least seven or eight inches on the ground, and more falling! You may think just because I'm Southern, I don't care for snow... you would be wrong about that! I really LOVE snow! I bounded out the door with puppy energy when FM let us out and I romped through all the powdery white stuff! I was having so much fun running until I realized that FM was hollering at me to cut it out and come inside. Oops - forgot about my "restricted activity" for a minute! Oh well... it felt great to run, even though it wasn't for very long at all.
I don't think FM likes the snow much. She left us today as usual, to go to that place she calls "work." We heard her car pull up to the house earlier than she usually gets home, though, and heard scraping noises against the driveway outside. I guess her car got stuck in the snow at the bottom of the driveway and she had to shovel it out. (Am I ever glad that I'm a dog and therefore not expected to shovel! It does NOT look fun!) While she was shoveling, she hurt her back something fierce... she came limping into the house and was not in a good mood at all. She has spent the rest of today flat on her back on the couch, and she really only got up to let us out once and to feed us dinner... very slowly, I might add. I was patient with her though because I can tell she's in pain. I'm sensitive to stuff like that.
Dinner was my usual kibble, which I love, but then FM added something extra. Her dogs eat raw meat, far as I can tell, and today part of their meal was raw chicken hearts. Sully told me this is his very favorite raw food ever because they are bite-sized and taste so delicious! Well, FM had chicken hearts left over in the package after feeding my foster siblings, so she gave ME some! Wow, were they ever scrumptious! I do declare that I am a fan of chicken hearts! FM said she was very happy to see me get some raw food... I will be quite thrilled to get some more!
FM gave us one more thing to eat today... They are called baby carrots. She gave one to each of us when she was eating some with her dinner. I took mine in my mouth but then spit it out... I didn't like it. Too boring. I think that food is best served to rabbits and such. Us dogs need something more substantial, like... say... a truckload of chicken hearts!
