Why did I wait so long to do this?

You know, I've been watchin' my best friend Xena for a long time. Xena likes to do a lot of dog things...dig holes, chase balls and toys, and fetch sticks. Sometimes I help her dig holes - she digs them and I eat the dirt.....you can't just leave it there!!

Well, today Xena found a huge branch....She was chewing it all up trying to break it into pieces but it was just too big. Even Xena's mom couldn't break it up. So mama pulled another large branch with some of those real skinny branches and twigs coming off of it.

I thought "Hmmmmmmmm........." As mama dragged it by, I grabbed it and started chewing those little twigs all up. It felt really good in my mouth and teeth, like dozens of little toothpicks all at once. (Anyone who has seen me smile knows I could benefit from more than just a few toothpicks, but - Hey! - it's a start!)

What a relaxing way to spend an afternoon - laying on the grass in the sun, chewing a stick with my best friend. Why did I wait so long to do this?
