Growlmy saw a cute little Fox Terrier mix at the local shelter, her name was Cricket. She was 5 years old.
So CUTE! She looked a lot like me, except her fur was shaggier and her ears stood up...ok then she didn't look like me, BOL!
Growlmy wanted to let her be my sisfur(!), but they were not letting her go to any new den that had kitties. Shucks! I would have liked to have her here...well maybe one day there might be a pup here, well, maybe a bit older than a baby-pup, but a playmate.
So I will just have to play through the fence games with Champ...and romp in the snow...UGH, I hate snow! Growlmy had to shovel out twice today, to keep up with it...but it is easier work now that we have the concrete, rather than the old gravel and mud ruts.
She was glad to be off today, the roads are awful and there have been lots of 'incidents'. The main highway was even closed completely for a while. Tomorrow...well not sure if growlmy will get the groceries or wait another day...at least the cupboards are not bare. The doggy treats and food bags are full.
Yesterday, growlmy was at work...carrying water cups, with lids... She was taking them to the residents' bathroom to dump them out, only they were almost dumped on the carpet, BOL! Growlmy caught her toe in a wire under a residents' bed, attached to a fall alarm. So she careened across the floor, and stumbled to the bathroom door...where she couldn't keep her balance any longer, and DOWN she went. Kaboom! Miraculously the lids stayed on the cups, and growlmy's knees were not hurt...just her pride was sorely wounded. Both residents had a good giggle at growlmy's expense, and so did the nurse out in the hall who witnessed this incident...growlmy got up and finished her work with a furry red face... the funny thing was the fall alarm did not register the fact that someone had fallen...because growlmy only tripped over the wire, not the mat...BOL!
Its a good thing there was no one there with a camera...
Paws crossed the Cricket will find a pawsome home. Too bad they won't let her go where there are kitties!
Your growly and my mom are the same. Mom hasn't ventured into town for about a week. The roads have been icy and the main highway was also closed one day due to ice. I have enough food, but mom is running low on fresh fruit!
It was a very good thing there was no camera when your growlmy fell. Glad she was not hurt.
aww...sure wish that you could have gotten a fursis too,
oh my poor growmly, thank goodness there weren't any cameras around, I hope that she is ok though
Somewhere your new brofur or sisfur is out there. You'll find each other, I know it!
I'm sorry your mommy went Kaboom! It's good she's okay, though!
Ouch! Glad your momma are ok!
It's good the shelter is tryin' to find just the right home fur all their pups. Bringin' a pup home to find it doesn't get along with cats woulda just been allota heartache fur all involved. The right one will come along!
Good your Growlmy was ok. People fall all the time. It's part o' bein' two legged. She shouldn't be embarrassed.
Glad Growlmy is OK. Sorry you weren't able to get a sisfur.
Glad Growlmy is okay. When I was a wee pup I got my leash tangled around my 1st Mom's legs on the steps and she went down, hard. Broke her ankle in multiple places. Mum had to move in with us for a couple of months. So falls can be very bad.
Hope Cricket gets a great home, sorry it can't be yours. Your bro or sis will be coming soon. I can just feel it!
Poor Growlmy!!!! At least she's not seriously hurt!
Want some snow and deep freezer temps? I will gladly send them to anyfur...Growlmy calls it 'freeze your toes off' weather!
At least she didn't do a repeat fall on the ice perfurmance, that was exactly a year ago:( Still feels that wrist with heavier work chores...
Today Prince was trying to get in our yard as he had gotten out of his pen, while his peeps were not home, sigh...poor dude, its amazing that he doesn't freeze to death, but apparently with shelter they can handle it, he sure has a shaggy coat.
He tried to get in growlmy's van when she went out to get groceries, and upon her return he was there again...then he tried to get in when growlmy opened the gate, at least its a 'sally port' (double gated), so she could shoo him out, but he did not want to go! BOL! Does anyone want a big goofy, bumbling goat? I do NOT! Hr tried to eat the contents of growlmy's bags, too...
I have seen the neighbors kids take turns taking Champ out in his leash several times a day, even in the cold.
Brrrrrrr... hope you stay warm in all dat cold!
Glad that all your Momma hurt was her pride....poor Growlmy!
Lots of places think us terriers won't get along with kitties... but Whitley and I get along with kitties just fine. Wonder if the shelter pup didn't like cats or if they wuz just makin' assumptions...
