Arrival Story:
My husband and I became aware of Gracie through the Bedlington Terrier Club of America Rescue group. She was being fostered for about 6 months in Colorado. On Valentine's Day of 2004, she flew to us from Colorado. When we brought her home, our male Bedlington terrier just fell in love with her and they've been best buddies ever since (the relations with the Mini Dachshund are a different story, though things are relatively nicer than they used to be!).

Bio:
Gracie is affected with inherited Copper Toxicosis (CT) and we are currently working with our vet, and Bedlington owners who have had experience with CT, to help her. We want to make her as comfortable and healthy as possible so that she can have a very long life with us! ************************ Update: Gracie suddenly passed away on 3/23/05 at the young age of only 4 years old. The vet believes her death was caused by DIC, which is basically like a stroke. Her liver was very large, so the vet said that perhaps it was a blessing she died this way. Otherwise she may have had a slower painful death of liver failure. He estimated that she wouldn't have had much time left based on what her liver looked like. We are all extremely stricken with grief, but are taking things day by day. We know that there are sunnier days ahead and that we will always have sooo many happy memories of our Gracie girl!!
