A Day In the Life of the Fizzy

Another Gone to the Bridge

Momma is sad today, pups. She just found out my old groomer's dog had to go to the Bridge today. His name was Silas, and he was actually a famous pup.

You may have heard of Roetlispoodle. The Standard Poodle creatively groomed to look like a Pittsburgh Steeler. He was all over the Interwebs for a while, and he was in magazines even. He was all over our local news for a while, too. He caused a bit of debate, too, about whether or not dogs should be creatively groomed.

Here's his story and a picture, if you're interested.

Silas

Momma met Silas a bunch of times. See, my old groomer, Justine, is a childhood friend of Momma and my Aunties. She grew up in the house behind them, and they all played together when they were little humans. So Momma is doubly sad, cause she knows her friend is hurting something awful. Silas had Addison's disease, Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia, and Pemphigus. I'm not sure what all those things are, but Momma says he lived a long time for all the problems he had, and he was in the BEST home.

Rest in Peace at the Bridge, Silas. You'll be greatly missed.

Oh Fizzy that is paweful news to hear. Me and my family send big hugs and lotsa wuff to you and yours. Mom says that's the hardest thing about having us little four legged children...one day we're bound to go on home ahead of the hoomans. We hope your momma's friend can find some comfort in knowing Silas is running pain free at the Rainbow Bridge with so many other angel furs.

We're sorry to hear this. I wonder what Silas looks like at the bridge....still in his Pitts paint, or maybe with angel wings painted on him, I know he is happy no matter what he looks like! Enjoyed reading the blog and seeing his pics!
Woof Woof, Buddy
