We took Fizzy to the emergency vet at 3:45 am Pittsburgh time. He wasn't getting any better and seemed extremely uncomfortable. He kept getting up every 10-20 minutes and wanted to go outside. Sometimes he would throw up, sometimes he would poop blood, sometimes he would just stand there. I got up at 2:30, thinking maybe he was hungry as he hadn't eaten in over 24 hours. When he refused chicken and rice, I got real scared. He LOVES chicken and rice. All he wanted to do was drink water, which he would throw up 20 minutes later. I wasn't feeling very good about it, so me and hubby took him to this new vet center that's AMAZING.

This vet seemed far more competent than the one we went to earlier. I think I'll be switching vets. Anyway, he's been admitted for at least 12 hours, possibly up to 48 hours. They have him on fluids (he was clearly dehydrated), anti-nausea meds, and pain meds. She said the surgery is NOT an emergency, that whatever's going on intestinally needs fixed first. She suspects giardia, (which I'm not even sure what that is right now because I'm so stinking tired) because she's seen several cases of it this summer. I think it's a parasite, which makes me think of that stupid bunny he had found last week. We're waiting for the blood work and stool sample labs to come back.

Thank you all for your prayers and presents. Seriously, my Dogster family is AMAZING. Keep praying, though. We're not out of the woods yet, although I have faith in this vet. She seemed to really know her stuff.

I need to go to bed now, as I've been up for over 24 hours now. When I hear anything else, I'll let you know. Thanks pals. Me and Fizzy love you all, and I mean that sincerely.

Fizzy you get better! We are all hoping and praying for you. Glad you have a better Dogtor. Tell your Momma to get some rest. You need her to be strong too!
