I've started a blog called aftergadet. It's at http://aftergadget.wordpress.com.

Gadget's death was such a devastating loss that for a long time, I was just in shock. Finally things started to shift, and I realized that blogging about Gadget, what his loss has meant, and how I will transition into my new life (with a new puppy to train), was just what I needed to process Gadget's death.

I have found, just having posted one entry and about to post a second, that it is tremendously cathartic for me as well as bringing me back to my one and only passion aside from dogs, which is writing. I guess that is one of the many final gifts Gadget has given me. There have been so many; who know there were more in store, even after death?

It is a place not just for me but for anyone who has loved and lost, for anyone who wants to participate in the assistance dog world or learn more about it, for anyone who loves dogs, and for anyone who wants to read about a first-time puppy raiser making a fool of herself on a regular basis!
