In late August I accepted the challenge to HELP raise funds to support my local humane society, Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) to HELP animals!

On October 2, I walk n' wag for 5K in support of HSSV ... I was tired but it was well worth it! (I was the first 10 pawticipants to cross the Finish Line!!!) A record number of participants turned out for HSSV Walk 'n Wag walk-a-thon, over 800 people accompanied with their companion dogs!!!

As promised, I wanted to give updates on our achievements.

HSSV Goal = $125,000 vs. Achieved = $109,393.61
My Team Goal = $3,500 vs. Achieved = $3,665
MY Goal = $500 vs. Achieved = $580

Every dollar counts:
$1 Will feed a dog for a day
$5 Will provide a vaccine for a shelter animal
$25 Will help foster a litter of kittens
$50 Will educate 5 students on animal kindness
$100 Will provide emergency medical care for 1 homeless animal
$250 Will neuter 8 male cats
$500 Will vaccinate 100 animals
$1,000 Will feed 30 dogs for one month

In 2009, HSSV:
Found loving homes for 3,425 animals
Reunited 224 lost pets with their families
Saved 900 animals from being euthanized due to lack of resources or space
Fostered 800 kittens/cats and puppies/dogs needing a little love and time
Spayed/neutered, vaccinated and/or microchipped 5,600 furry patients

Thanks to your support, 2010 and 2011 statistics will increase!!

Thank you to all whom have contributed to my fundraising goals. Please know that your support, your contribution makes a positive difference to the many animals, and they are appreciative!

Kind regards.

Paws xx Licks xx,
Zoe
