Ash Wednesday, 40 Days for Life, NPR, & Light Bulbs

The Lenten season is off! I don't know what I am going to give up. I think Mom should give up the ol' man for Lent.

40 Days for Life has begun. Please keep this effort in your prayers! Around here, there are about 40 Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox churches keeping vigil at the Planned Parenthood everyday. What a great way to share faith/hope and put aside our differences!!!!!

Did you get to hear the lunatic ravings of .... NOT CHARLIE SHEEN, but of Mr. Schiller from NPR? He had a whole bunch of nice things to say about Jews and Christians in this video (sarcasm...). Also, if you have any conservative values you are stupid and unable to have any bit of intelligence. My summary of what he said is really nice compared to what he said about Americans so check it out. After the video, you probably will be really angry. If that is the case, please sign the online petition to stop all funding to NPR.

A s you may have heard, light bulbs are being banned in the U.S. We are not happy in this household b/c the new, eco-friendly bulbs (which contain mercury...) lack brightness. Mom ends up turning on three lights instead of one b/c we can't see! She went to Lowe's to stock up in the fall when she got whiff of the government wanting to get rid of them. Would you like to see Edison hang around a little longer and tell government to butt out of your light business? Sign this petition hosted by Freedom Action!

Have a joyful week getting involved politically!!!!

Video: How Much is P. Obama Cutting From the Budget????

It has been a long time, my friends. We have been busy eating, sleeping, and being sick. There has been so much to talk about (i.e. porno scanners at the airport which mom dodged on her recent "vacation", the Nov. 2nd elections, the Packers taking the Super Bowl, and Egypt experiencing an interesting moment which it hasn't seen since God freed mom's Jewish ancestors, etc...), but we just haven't gotten around to commenting on it all. We hope all of you had a great Christmas and that your 2011 be bone-filled!

The local tea party rep. sent this out today. It is a video giving you a visual on our budget using pennies. It is 1.5 minutes long.

http://wimp.com/budgetcuts

I don't know what to say after this video other than "cat-crap"! That is my curse word for today.

I haven't been sending out "Thank You" notes for all of the goodies received since last year. Thank you for always thinking about me! I keep a lot of you in my thoughts.

Pedigree Adoption Program

In light of the offer to send 20lbs of dog food to shelters/blog entry, I am going to do my write up of Pedigree's Adoption Program and hope that some pound pups get some good grub. If you are curious as to what is up, my previous diary entry describes why I am doing this one.

Here is Pedigree's Adoption page:
http://www.pedigree.com/03Adoption/Adopt-A-Dog/Defaul t.aspx

I think that their mission is very cute. They say they are, "helping to cure people of their doglessness".

They provide useful tools for locating animals (similar to petfinder.com). These include a local shelter search and a breed-specific search based on your zip.

There is also an educational section which contains articles on adoption. Some of the topics include questions to ask before adoption (i.e. are you ready to adopt) and being a responsible owner (i.e. training your dog and picking up their poop, etc.).

I tried out the locate a shelter in your area search option. None of the Pomeranian rescues were listed, but the major shelters were. I then decided to do a breed specific search, and Pomeranians looking for new homes in our area did pop up. That made me happy!

I think that there definitely was thought and effort put into setting this up and accolades to Pedigree!

Don't forget that even if you can't help by adopting a dog using Pedigree's search tools, you can still become a fan of Pedigree through facebook. For each facebook fan, they will donate a bowl of food.

Write a Blog About Pedegree's Adoption Program & They Will- Donate Food to Shelters

Just by chance I came across this posting. It looks like Pedigree will give away 20lbs of food for every blog post about their adoption program! Not sure if Pedigree is nutritious, but it seems like a good cause!

Quote taken from I Love Rescue Animals blog:
"Now you can help them do even more for dogs in need simply by writing a post. For every blog that writes a post about their adoption drive from now until next Sunday, which is September 19, Pedigree will donate a TWENTY pound bag of their brand new Healthy Longevity Food for Dogs to a shelter."

Check out the blog, I Love Rescue Animals, were it was first posted:
http://iloverescueanimals.org/2010/09/write-a-post- help-a-dog/

It looks like the post has to be written by this Sunday so get your paws moving!

We are going to do some research of Pedigree's adoption program first, and then we will post about it tomorrow.

Here is the link to Pedigree's adoption program.

FYI: I guess the I Love Rescue Animals blog would like a link to your blog post so that it is accurately counted.

The Fly Lady: Sink Reflections, 27 Fling Boogie, & Freecycle

Well, my mouth seems to be healing since my tooth was accidentally kicked out. Mom found it a few days ago in the driveway. It looks like it came out rather than being broken off.

Mom started taking classes as a non-traditional student at a local university. She is gone everyday for a long time. I am so lonely.

Now that she isn't home, mom is relying on The Fly Lady to keep her on track with the housework. Mom is allergic to housework.

The Fly Lady is such an inspiration for keeping your house presentable. She wrote the book, Sink Reflections. If you haven't read Sink Reflections, please check it out from a library (if you can). The Fly Lady also has a cute website if you would like to learn more about her.

http://www.flylady.net/index.asp

Mom also has a "hoarding" tendency. The Fly Lady gives you baby steps to decluttering your home. By doing the 27 fling boogie, we have gotten a pile of stuff together for donations. Some of the stuff has been giving away using freecycle and to the Vietnam Veterans group who take donations.

Freecycle is great if you can find one in your town. Ours is conducted through a yahoo group. Everything you list has to be free. You can also receive free items by keeping an eye out on what is posted or you can just post a "wanted" ad. It is similar to Craigslist, but everything is free. To learn more about Freecycle visit: http://www.freecycle.org/.

If you want to see about donating clothing or other items to the Vietnam Veterans group this is their website: http://www.clothingdonations.org/service.htm

My Tooth Got Kicked Out!

September 7th 2010 3:06 pm

Mom and I have had a rough day, and I blame it all on the ol' man and Pres. Obama.

When mom got home, she took me out for my potty break. While I do that, she waters her grass (which is all yellow by the way....) and completely ignores me.

I followed her in the garage, and she wasn't aware of me behind her. As she puts the water can on top of the mulch (which is almost two years old...) her heel met my mouth. It was so painful. I shrieked. Blood was everywhere. Mom was shocked and didn't know what happened. I ran from her, but I finally decided she wasn't going to hurt me and let her pick me up. She started crying and wiping the blood away thinking it was just my nose. MY NOSE! My d*mn tooth got kicked out you crazy lady. Then she saw that it was coming from my mouth. There was no tooth. She was very scared and ran in the house. I got a wet towel stuffed in my mouth.... That was not okay.

So, I am now down to six teeth from seven. She wasn't at fault for the other teeth b/c they were like that when she adopted me. Actually I had eight, but one of them was loose when she adopted me, and it came out right before I went to the doggy dentist. The dentist only had to clean seven teeth, but charged us as if I had a full mouth of them. Go figure.

What a terrible day for us. The only thing that is good about this tooth being gone is that I can lick faster lopsided.

Mom is still very sad and keeps asking me if I still love her. She is so insecure!

Bad Female Human Caught on Camera Throwing Cat in Garbage

It is despicable!

We have seen photos of animals being put in dumpsters or smashed in dump trucks, and it is ridiculous. Mom says that if people are willing to kill little babies then we animals are out of luck.

Check out the video and don't be surprised:

http://indyposted.com/83290/woman-throws-cat-i n-garbage-video/

Do you think she deserves police protection?

Mom says no. It is the innocent who should be protected and not the wicked. Why do your tax dollars (and British people's) go to protecting the criminals while leaving the victims out in the cold?

A good A$$ whooping by fellow humans would be ample punishment. She shouldn't get any publicly paid for protection. She can hire her own bodyguard using her own money!

Runner's World: The Dog Run Website

Are you a runner?

Are you a dog owner?

If you answered yes to the questions above, have you combined the two?

Runner's World is a popular magazine with runners of all levels.

They even have a website dedicated to running with your dog. It gives various tips on running with a dog and which dog breed suits your running style.

http://www.runnersworld.com/dogrun/

Personally, I have no interest in running. I am a tired and sleepy Pomeranian with bad knees and hips!

Arizona Doesn't Share a Border w/ Mexico???? Stupid- Wisconsinite!

August 16th 2010 9:05 am
[ View A Comments ]

Mom is mortified and embarrassed that her home state has sunk into retardation. As mom was reading a blog on politicians "misspeaking", she came across this statement about a Wisconsin public servant:

"So it was that when Rep. Hank Johnson claimed to be worried that the island of Guam might tip over if too many American servicemen were stationed there, he quickly explained that he’d misspoken, as did Wisconsin state supervisor Peggy West after she’d taken Arizona to task for its immigration bill when, as she insisted, it doesn’t even share a border with Mexico."

If you would like to read more about Stupids, here is the blog link which was quoted above:

http://patriotpost.us/opinion/burt-prelutsky/2010/ 08/14/keeping-tabs-on-libs/

Mom would also like to repeat that Northern states have no business telling Arizona how to run their household. If Wisconsin were overrun with illegals, they would do more than Arizona to protect their resources. Wisconsin does have a good track record with the Hmong, but the Hmong helped us fight in Vietnam and deserve our help (they would have been killed by the Vietnamese/communists otherwise). Wisconsin also didn't get thousands of Hmong coming in illegally year after year. The Hmong were assimilated in so that you didn't have to have bilingual grade schools being taught in both Hmong and English. Many of the Hmong children went on to get their degrees at UW and U of M schools in science, nursing, and education. For the most part the current generation are productive members of society with pride in America.

This is orderly immigration and Wisconsinites should remember it and be thankful that there was some type of order to bring in these new Americans and not the chaos we are witnessing in the Southwest. Even then, Wisconsinites were still p.o. with the welfare the Hmong received and free college education so I wonder what they would have done had they had similar problems that Arizona faces with the illegal Mexicans????? Or how about the Native American's fishing rights that Wisconsinites continually complain about. Oh, PLEEEEAAASE! Deal with your own dirty laundry before sifting through someone else's!

Don't know who the Hmong are? Well, time to get your knowledge up to speed, Friends!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hmong_people

It is just like Pennsylvania opening their big mouths saying that illegals are free to come to the cities here. Pennsylvania has NO IDEA what trouble will come as illegals come up this way. Maybe they are bored with the current welfare recipients that they want to add some new faces in the mix? Maybe there isn't enough diversity in the welfare data bank so PA is being accused of welfare racism?

Mom and I never claim to be even remotely gifted with brains, but like Judge Judy says, "If it doesn't make sense, it isn't TRUE!"

Mom wanted me to post something more uplifting since the diary entries have been leaning on the serious side.

We came across this story about a handicap Marine (James Carey) who ran a marathon with the help of another Marine (Nathan Wood).

We are not sure if the video link works, but you can always go to runnersworld.com and look for it.

http://www.runnersworld.com/video/1,8052,s6-21-0-7,00 .html?bcpid=2888992001&bclid=1508311825&bctid=374675039001

Here is the website of his patient information if you would like to learn more about him and his journey to complete a marathon.
