No, you did not read this before. That was an American family who was reunited with their dog after he was stolen and then dropped off at a shelter. This is an Australian family whose dog escaped their yard and was found four years later running loose. The article comes to us from The Sunday Mail.
Congratulations to this family as well!
A family has been reunited with their dog which went missing four years ago – thanks to a tiny microchip.
The Le family of Brisbane had given up hope of seeing their border collie Mikey again.
But this week Mikey was spotted in the inner Brisbane suburb of Mt Gravatt without a collar.
RSPCA staff scanned his microchip and got the Le family’s details.
“We didn’t expect to see him,” Tri Le, 19, said. “He was missing for so long.”
Judging by Mikey’s condition, someone had been looking after him.
The family plans to build a bigger fence.
Now, have we all learned the value of microchipping? I sure have!
