Spot has a long tongue. It sticks out when he sleeps, leaving behind little drool marks on the bed he shares with Dolly. I wash their bed every few weeks to remove the accumulated tongue prints and any other stains.
The process involves pulling out all of the stuffing, washing the cover and letting it air-dry, and putting all of the pieces back together to form the bumper bed’s original shape. If you have ever laundered this type of bed, you know that rarely happens on the first or even second try. Stupid stuffing!
I happily crossed this frustrating chore off my to-do list with the arrival of the ‘Sup Pup wipeable pet bed from Messy Marvin, shown here. Not only does it feature a stylish design — French gray in a zigzag pattern with a pop of red at the zipper — the materials make it super-easy to keep clean. You simply hose it off. The stuffing can even stay inside thanks to a lead-free PVC backing, which keeps water from penetrating the cover.
The bed comes in two sizes: the medium above, which has more than enough room for both Spot and Dolly at a comfy 24 inches by 36 inches by 4 inches, and the large at 36 inches by 60 inches by 5 inches. And for those of you with furless kids in the home, too, the company offers an entire line of wipeable products to get you through their messiest years.
