At bedtime, I brush my teeth and give the pups a dental chew. This nightly ritual, along with an oral supplement mixed into their food, helped Dolly and Spot avoid the dentist chair until well into their senior years.
They have a favorite chew, but when PetSafe offered to send them samples of its new Indigo Fresh dental line to review for a giveaway, how could we refuse? The line includes dental sticks, floss bones, and dental sauce. I’ll let Dolly and Spot take it from here:
Dolly thought bubble: It smells minty, but tastes like chicken and blueberry. Interesting. Delicious. And it feels good against my gums. I give the stick five paws (out of five)!
Dolly thought bubble: I like this one even better. It tastes the same, but the shape makes it easier to hold. I give the bone six paws (out of five)! Bonus paw for the shape.
Spot thought bubble: You know I don’t eat on camera.
Spot thought bubble: Seriously, are you done? I would like to take my chew under the bed and eat it in private.
Both the dental sticks and floss bones contain hexametaphosphate, an ingredient proven to remove plaque and tarter buildup by up to 80 percent, and antioxidant-rich ingredients such as blueberries. There are no artificial colors or preservatives in the chews, and they are easy to digest. I also like that they come in a flavor different than Dolly and Spot’s regular dental chew. Variety is the spice of life, after all.
In honor of National Pet Dental Month, PetSafe will give three Dogster readers and their pup their own Indigo Fresh Prize Pack, with a bag each of the dental sticks and floss bones, plus a container of its dental sauce, which comes in mint or sweet potato flavor.
Good luck!
