Dog poop has proven to be a highly incendiary topic of late.

Last week we wrote about the case of the Danish man who got so mad at a woman who didn’t scoop her dog’s doo that he held her tight and rubbed the poop all over her hair and head.

Horrible as that was, today we have a far worse result from an errant poop. A Sacramento-area man allegedly shot and killed a dog who did her number in his yard.

Police have arrested the 69-year-old man on charges of animal cruelty, according to a KXTV story. The man said he didn’t mean to kill Midge with his BB gun.

Police say this poop-in-yard issue has been an ongoing problem between the man and Midge’s owner.

Of course it goes without saying that you just don’t go around shooting dogs who poop in places you don’t like. But even though we don’t know the whole story, Midge’s person is not entirely blameless either. The only innocent party here appears to be Midge, who just needed to find a toilet.
