There are so many ways to make a difference in an animal’s life, and powerful photography and videography are two of them. Just look at pro photog and shelter dog advocate Guinnevere Shuster, whose “Shelter Dogs in a Shelter Booth” project we wrote about earlier this year. She recently won Canon’s “Rebel With a Cause” contest, part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the first EOS Rebel SLR camera. Guinnevere filmed the heartwarming, two-minute #WillasBestDay video, which shows the sweet shelter dog playing with toys and bubbles, drinking water straight from a (golden) toilet, and chowing down on delicious (Fido-friendly) food.
One look at the clip, and it’s easy to see why Willa was quickly adopted from the Hudson Valley Animal Rescue and Sanctuary once word got out about her. She was primarily a breeding dog before she was abandoned, and as a hound, she really needs space to run around and play while having the love and security of a family to care for her.
Shuster also partnered with Dogs of Instagram to advocate for the pooch’s adoption. And the video has helped spread awareness while garnering a ton of interest in adopting dogs from HVARS.
