Sadie, a Scottish terrier, surprised no one when she took Best in Show at Westminster last night. After all, the black beauty was a big favorite coming into the show.

But she was probably breathing a major sigh of relief that finally nothing went wrong during her tour d’ Westminster.

This was Sadie’s third shot at Westminster. Two years ago, according to an AP story, Sadie got spooked by strange sounds, and last year, she used Madison Square Garden’s green carpet as a toilet.

But this year, nothing went wrong. “She was perfect,” handler Gabriel Rangel said in the AP story. “I couldn’t ask for anything more.” Third time was indeed the charm for 4-year-old Sadie.

Moments before Sadie won her title, two protestors interrupted the ceremony by walking into the center of the ring and holding up signs that read, “Mutts Rule,” and “Breeders Kill Shelter Dogs’ Chances.” The crowd of 15,000 gasped and booed what AP calls a PETA-inspired protest. Security led them away without incident, and Sadie took center stage.
