That’s right pups, the Annual Adopt ’09 Stroll has begun and it’s time to share your story.

In this contest it doesn’t matter where you came from, it’s all about where you ended up and how you got there.

The Annual Adopt 09 stroll and contest has been announced! By dogster members entering the contest and sharing their connection or support to adoption through personal experience, we hope it will inspire others to consider adopting a pet who can bring such love and joy to a family.

The contest initially created by one amazing dogster, Lucia, whose mission was to bring adoption and rescue awareness to dogster members. In 2006 the contest had a few winners with prizes of rosettes, bones and a small donation selected and distributed by two dogster judges. Now in its fourth year we have 14 judges, which include previous Adopt Contest winners, and a list of prizes donated and provided by generous dogster members, dogster, a webstore, and Best Bully Sticks. Thus making it one of our best years to date!

We continue to have the 3 top winners and 5 honorable mentions and have brought back the Rainbow Angel category from 2008. With the amazing donations, we were able to add another special category, Dog’s Best Friend, which allows members to nominate their Mom or Dad who rescue, volunteer, foster, coordinate in rescue and adoption.

For all the details, we have announced the contest in Plus Fun and Adoption and Happy Endings. The deadline is May 10 and we encourage members to enter the contest and share their picture and story!

All Dogsters are welcome to enter this fun and exciting contest. If you’ve been adopted or are waiting to be adopted, if you transport pets or volunteer, or even if you just support adoption. That’s pretty much every pup!

As some of you know, our rescue dog Bo has a book coming out in Oct ’09 (Kensington Books). The book BAD TO THE BONE is through Bo’s eyes and is about the crazy adventures we have shared over the last 14 plus years. Nothing would make Lisa and I happier than if the book inspires others to go out and adopt a rescue dog, even one with a very mischievous personality. Bo has definitely rocked our world, and forever changed our lives, we hope his story brings as much joy and laughter to others as it has to us. If you would like to read a preview chapter and find out how Bo came into our lives grab your leash and run on over to Bo Knows.

Now’s not the time to be shy, your story may be someone else’s inspiration to go out and adopt or work in rescue. Don’t worry if you think you’re not the best writer, just write from the heart.

Be the change you want the world to see.
Mohandas Gandhi

I’m looking forward to reading all the stories that are going to be submitted by the members of our wonderful community, known as Dogster.

*ADOPTABLE: Maya is super sweet and needs a new forever home, she was out wandering and no one came to look for her.
