It’s time again to remember Spay Day USA, the annual event started by the Doris Day Animal Foundation, to remind us all to spay and neuter pets.
Thanks to Connie for barking this in to remind us all to participate in some way!
Bark in and tell us how you and your part of the world is participating in Spay Day!
I’m new to dogster so I don’t know if you did anything last year about SPAY DAY USA. Spay day is in February every year. This will be the 13th year.
It was started by the Doris Day Animal Foundation. I would hope that you would mention it in some way on dogster. Hopefully in time for dogs and cats to take advantage of the low cost spay and neuter coupons. In my county (DuPage County, Illinois) many Vets participate.

From the Spay Day page on the Humane Society of the United States site:
What: A national campaign to promote spay/neuter as a simple, humane and effective way to end the tragedy of euthanizing homeless pets.
When: Feb. 27, 2007, but events and activities will take place throughout the month of February.
Where: Across the United States and U. S. territories.
Why: Thousands of kittens and puppies are born every hour in the United States. While these baby animals are adorable, the fate of most of them is tragic. Spaying or neutering our pets and feral cats is the most effective way to reduce the vast numbers of animals who are born only to die prematurely and without a family who loves them. Learn more
