WILLIAM CROSS WINE MERCHANTS TO HOLD BENEFIT FOR SAN FRANCISCO LOCAL HERO, MICHAEL KEENAN ON FEBRUARY 21, 2007 FROM 6PM TO 9PM
TWO TIME HERO, KEENAN BADLY INJURED RESCUING DOG FROM HOUSE FIRE AND CLINGS TO LIFE AT SAN FRANCISCO GENERAL.
(SAN FRANCISCO, CA) – February 15, 2007 — Steven Sherman of William Cross Wine Merchants has just announced a benefit will be held in honor of two-time local hero, Michael Keenan. Known for it’s popular Wednesday evening wine tasting. William Cross Wine Merchants will open it’s doors for a special evening to benefit The Michael Keenan Support Fund.
Food and wine from various local Bay Area favorites such as Silver Oak, Fountainhead, Taittinger and Miner wineries, along with Young’s Market will participate in the silent auction. Also, Antica and Pescewill restaurants will serve delicious menu items during the evening. Auction items include gift certificates to local restaurants, wines and special surprise items being added this week, with all proceeds going to Michael Keenan Support Fund. William Cross Wine Merchants is located at 2253 Polk St. at Green. A $25 donation is requested at the door.
Keenan suffered severe burns on 80% of his body after rescuing a dog from a burning house the night of February 7th. Keenan is currently under watch at San Francisco General Hospital where he has been surrounded by his closest friends and family.
No stranger to heroic acts, Keenan was responsible for saving a woman’s life in 2001, when an SUV backed into the San Francisco Bay on Christmas Day. Michael selflessly dove right in to rescue the people trapped in the sinking vehicle. He was able to retrieve passenger Heather Laarif, who was teaching her husband how to drive.
Steven Sherman reports many wineries are happily participating in the benefit and while surrounding local businesses are donating their services for Michael’s benefit as well.
More information on how to donate to Michael’s fund is available at michaeljameskeenan.blogspot.com
