Get Your Pudgy Dog In Shape With Petfit Challenge
Hey you pudgy or poophy pets! Interested in getting fit and trim for bikini season? Yeah, I know most of you don’t care (and probably don’t even wear bikinis) but your humans might be interested in your weight. Liz barked in to let us know about the Hill’s National PetFit Challenge with one of the human trainers from the TV show, The Biggest Loser.
Hi Joy,
I’ve been reading your blog on Dogster, and I think it’s great! I thought you might be interested in hearing about a competition that recently started up for pudgy pets, called the Hill’s National PetFit Challenge. Basically, the point of the PetFit Challenge is to raise awareness of the serious health problems associated with obesity and get owners to take initiative and help their pets shed those unhealthy pounds!
Jillian Michaels, one of the personal trainers from NBC’s hit show, The Biggest Loser, and her chubby Chihuahua, Baxter, are leading the charge to recruit overweight pets across the country to take the Challenge. Baxter is one of a growing number of America’s pets (40% of cats and dogs!) that are losing the battle of the bulge and becoming obese. Jillian is the first to admit she has not practiced what she preaches in her own household with “Fat Baxter” but is determined to help her devoted four-legged friend achieve his ideal weight by working with him on a diet and exercise plan that will also inspire other pet owners to find the slim pet within. You can find some great info and download entry forms on www.PetFit.com. Everyone who registers on the site will receive a copy of Dr. Marty Becker’s new book, Fitness Unleashed, which has tons of great tips for exercising with your dog!
Best,
Liz
