Does your dog park have an adorable holiday tradition year after year? Turns out mine does … aaand I’m late to the party.

I was walking Moxie through Lafayette Park in San Francisco on Saturday when we ran into a sweet couple walking a 16-year-old Italian Greyhound named Solo. They asked us if we were going to “The Dog Tree” party that afternoon, and when we looked confused they explained that every December, a group of park regulars collects photos of the dogs who frequent the park, laminates the pictures, and hangs them on a tree.

We weren’t able to make the tree-adorning party that afternoon, but we did visit the park the next day to hunt for this much-talked-about tree. We found it at the back left corner of the park, for those of you in the Bay Area who might want to go and hunt for it.

But for most of you who are out of state, here’s a little video and some photos:

Note: In the video I mentioned that a park committee organizes this, but I later learned that it’s put together by park regulars who aren’t necessarily on some committee. Oops. But hey, even better!
