Great idea! I recently got a chance to try out the PetSafe Micro ID Collar and was impressed. This smart little device is a USB memory stick attached to a collar. The memory stick comes out so you can load lots of important info, including your pet’s photo, on it. Then if your pet is lost anyone finding your pet who has a computer or access to one can read all about your pet, including how to get him or her home, any medical conditions, name, etc.

It’s very easy to use except for one thing — initially getting the memory stick out of the holder. I have lessened strength in my hands so I had to get help getting the stick twisted free of the holder the first time. It’s a little tricky but someone else was able to do it. After the first time, it was fairly easy to twist the stick free. As for use of the program on the memory stick, that was easy. It’s all laid out and easy to walk through.

On the whole, this is a potentially life-saving device for any dog or cat who could possibly get loose outside their home. And isn’t that most of them?
