Katy Perry is transformed for this canine cover by the folks known for "Corgi Maybe" and "Digging in the Deep."

No, you haven’t been accidentally using the catnip instead of the oregano (again): This cover of Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” (or, as Katy Puppy calls it, “California Grrrs”) is just as strange as the original video.

The Pet Collective, the group that brought us “Corgi Maybe” and Pawdele’s “Digging in the Deep,” unleashes the revival of Katy Perry’s summer hit from two years ago, and it’s still the same cotton candy trip (although we have to admit that the use of dogs and cats in the video is a vast improvement).

In the video a Chihuahua Katy Puppy runs a candy-coated obstacle course through a board game maniacally manipulated by a literal Snoop Dog (an obvious parody of Snoop Dogg — er, we mean, Snoop Lion). Along the way, Katy Puppy enlists the help of a couple of cats as she battles gummy worms and probably the deadliest canine threat of all: chocolate!

Rest assured: No critters were harmed in the making of this video, and no candy was consumed by any mammal whose tummy couldn’t digest it. The result? Well, you’ll have to check out the video and tell us what you think!
