I ran across this article this morning, and was very excited to hear that the state of Pennsylvania is finally coming into the 21st century concerning animal welfare. From the Tammy Grimes case, springing Dogs Deserve Better, to Gov. Ed Rendell’s proposed dog law, which was discussed last week in Harrisburg by the Dog Law Advisory Board, now, the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is setting up a statewide hot line to report animal abuse.
Finally, after all these years and so many animals sacrificed … I think they’re finally getting it!

SPCA introduces animal abuse hot line

Tuesday, January 29, 2008The Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is setting up a statewide hot line to report animal abuse.
Executive Director Howard Nelson said the hot line officially opens Friday, but calls are being taken. The toll-free number is 866-601-SPCA. The society said reports of animal abuse were up by 2,000 last year to 8,000.
