In celebration of the year-end festive season, Dogster is casting a canine-focused eye back on the most notably lovable dogs that helped light up 2013. Each day we’ll be profiling one honorable hound. We’re tagging it “the 12 Dogs of Christmas.”
After featuring the Instagram-tastic Tuna yesterday, today we revisit some natural disaster dogs …
3. The Oklahoma Tornado Pups
Our Monday Miracle series profiles some of the most emotional canine stories out there. The plight of animals who find themselves embroiled in a natural disaster often crops up, and it was that way when tornados hit Oklahoma in May.
A pack of puppies were birthed during the tornado but their mother seemingly disposed of one and abandoned some of the others. Thankfully, they were eventually taken in by Elizabeth Hart, from the very pink Emma The Cleft Palatte Chihuahua movement. Bottle feeding and general recuperation ensued.
Checking in on the pups, it turns out that all but one of the group that were up for adoption have been successfully homed. You can dig through a smorgasbord of puppy pics over at their Facebook enclave.
