Nurse and dog credited with saving Livingston County man
A dog is credited with saving his owner’s life in Livingston County.
In September, John Osajca collapsed outside his home in Mt. Morris. His dog, Duke, stayed with him the whole time and when a nurse came by for a routine medical visit, Duke took her to his owner.
Tuesday, the sheriff presented commendation plaques to both Duke and the nurse, Janet Lewis. Duke also got a box of dog biscuits and a bone for his heroic efforts.
