Listing the Names of U.S. Presidents Is One Thing, But What About Presidential Dogs?

BuzzFeed has compiled them. You'll never guess who's named the "greatest" presidential pet.

Now here’s a grade-school challenge for ya: Can you name all 44 presidents of the United States? There’s um … let’s see … George Washington and … ? Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Bill Clinton … and … Barack Obama!

Okay, that’s only a handful, so we failed that test, but! We can definitely tell you the current First Dog! It’s Bo Obama the adorable Portuguese Water Dog. The White House has been home to many presidential dogs and cats as well (but dogs are our favorite here).

Thanks to BuzzFeed, even if we don’t have room in our brains to memorize all the presidents of the United States, we can at least make space to remember all the presidential pets — well, the dogs at least.

However, the most interesting First Creature to grace the White House lawns was neither a dog nor a cat.

Can you guess what it was? And which president it belonged to?

How did you fare? How well do you know your U.S. history? Who is your favorite First Pet?

Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to hit the history books. Can you blame us? It’s been a few years since we were in high school! Check out BuzzFeed for more on Bo Obama and the rest of the First Dogs (and Cats).
