I’ve been experimenting with my new camera and created and published my first training video with Mokie recently!
This video illustrates capturing, using a clicker as a camera to “take a picture” of behaviors that the dog naturally offers, getting the behavior reliably through reinforcement, and adding a verbal cue to the behavior.
I originally trained this behavior two years ago as part of my coursework for Karen Pryor Academy. We haven’t worked on it since, so I pulled the behavior out of the vault, dusted it off, and added a new cue. One of the reasons this exercise is so important it is because it is a behavior that is virtually impossible to train except through positive reinforcement.
I have some work to do on my editing skills, the text moves a little too fast and needs some adjusting. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy the video!
