Updates On The Struggle To Re Home Dogs From The Hungarian Death Camp

Thanks to Krisztina in Hungary for sending out the following update on the Sopron Dog Death Camp. Krisztinaisone of the valiant individuals working on saving and placing the dogs abused by the man who has come to be known as the “canine Mengele.”

157 dogs are safe now, accommodated in shelters all over the country, where they are being taken care of medically and are being taught what water is, what food is. Unfortunately until the legal procedures are finalized they are considered as incriminating evidence and remain in the ownership of “dogmengele” and thus cannot be permanently re-homed. The best thing for them would be to be given to loving homes and families both in Hungary and abroad in aid of their rehabilitation.

One thing those of you wishing to help could do,is to request the Ministry of Justice (perhaps through your local embassies) to speed up proceedings to close the case as soon as possible where by creating a precedent to ensure that this animal torturer gets his due punishment.

Thank you for all your help so far, the money donations are helping to cater for medical costs and food costs. This week more than 6 pallets of dog food was distributed among the 19 shelters accommodating the dogs. On Thursday, 16/03 another 50-60 dogs will be taken to shelters, catching them however is not a simple matter as these dogs roam wild up on the vineyard hill. According to reports in 70% of the dogs there is improvement in their mental state and they are now slowly beginning to trust the people around them.

See the earlier post for more information on this situation but in short, this man held over 200 dogs in some of the vilest and cruelest conditions I’ve ever heard of or seen. The pictures are too intense to publish here but if you have a strong stomach there are some on the rescue website, Dogheart.

I will keep passing information on to you as I get it.
