If you or any rescue you work with can help out the Almost Home Humane Society, now is the time. Thanks to Liz, catmama to Pearl, for barking this in.
Please feel free to cross-post this call for help!
Hi Everyone,
I have a huge problem on my hands. Our intake for September has been significantly higher than usual. This leaves us completely out of space. In an order do “fix” the problem, the decision has been made that any owner surrendered animal that comes in will have to be euthanized because there is no space and we are required by law to hold any stray animal that comes in for 5 days.
I have been told that we will not be able to maintain the current population of the shelter. I have been given two weeks to move a minimum 50 cats and 10 dogs or they will have to be euthanized.
All of the cats have been altered, FeLV tested negative, vaccinated, dewormed, and advanaged. The dogs have all been altered, HW tested negative, vaccinated, dewormed, and advantaged.
I know that many of you are primarily dog rescue, but anything that you can do to help would be appreciated. I will transport the animals to you. To look at the dogs available, you can go to the website. Not all of our cats are listed, but if you give me an idea of what you might be able to help place, I can work with that.
If you can help with any animal, it will save a life that will otherwise surely end here.
Thank you,
Wende McKinney
