Today may be Independence Day, but don’t tell that to Judy the Great Dane and Minnelli the goat. Since being found wandering around outside a Dallas-area wedding chapel last week, the two have proven to be inseparable. They eat together, they curl up and go to sleep together, and when animal shelter workers separate them for procedures, each is miserable.
“When [Judy’s] apart from Minelli, he starts crying and starts getting upset and panting and pacing,” East Lake Pet Orphanage veterinarian Karen Fling told CBS-11. And the goat starts bleating and is equally lost without his “other half,” according to shelter staff.
“They act like a little married couple…They’re literally inseparable,” Fling said.
So if no owner(s) show up, the shelter will soon be looking for a loving home to place them as a couple.
Check out the shelter’s webcam here (at last look there was an empty kennel, but the two are probably out for a stroll). And enjoy the video below. Happy “Independence” Day!
