UNITED KINGDOM – April 18, 2006: Hundreds of dogs have been saved from inside a garden shed in the United Kingdom this week. They had been left crammed inside in ‘horrific’ conditions.
The Yorkshire terriers were discovered after their 73-year-old owner, a dog breeder, died of a stroke. Their owner, who lived in a $435,000 cottage, had been keeping the 204 dogs in tiny carrier boxes inside a 40 ft shed with no windows.
A number of the dogs have now been rescued and microchipped and will now be house trained before new owners are found for them.
