Underwater dogs, dogs doing yoga, even a famous dog or two — the 2013 crop of dog calendars has something for everyone, whether you are shopping for yourself or a fellow pet parent. These ten in particular stand out:

1. Underwater Dogs

Dogster readers will recognize the images in this calendar, as we’ve written about photographer Seth Casteel’s stunning underwater pics more than once. The determination on these dogs’ faces as they dive for balls will inspire daily.

2. Yoga Dogs

While the dogs in this calendar had a little digital help achieving the yoga poses, that doesn’t make it any less fun. Bonus: Photographer Dan Borris donates 10 percent of the purchase price to animals affected by Superstorm Sandy.

3. Boo — The World’s Cutest Dog

Superstar Boo has more than six million Facebook fans and has appeared on countless TV shows, magazine pages, and websites, including Dogster. Get a full year of Boo’s cuteness with this calendar.

4. Bad Dog

From the New York Times bestselling book of the same name, dogs go wild in the Bad Dog calendar. Hundreds appear on the pages, along with fun captions such as “Bad Dog Early Warning Sign #7: At nine weeks, puppy already plotting to ruin carpet.”

5. AZ Cactus Corgi Rescue

Many local rescue groups create a calendar each year to raise funds. Support the continued good works of your favorite organization by buying one or two or three. The calendars typically feature beautiful photography by a local pet photographer, like Amy Sandidge for AZ Cactus Corgi Rescue. We also wrote about AZ Cactus Corgi this year as a Dogster Hero.

6. Dog Dreams

Is there anything cuter than a sleeping dog? This calendar presents a year’s worth of snoozing pups, including Pugs, Huskies, Basset Hounds, and Dalmatians, just to name a few.

7. Dogma

We’ve also written about photographer Ron Schmidt and his smart, witty images of dogs. His work was previously available only as prints and in his book, Loose Leashes, but fans of the wonderful pics can now purchase them in calendar form.

Schmidt donates a portion of its proceeds to local animal shelters, and if you get the calendar through the Animal Rescue Site, its purchase will fund 14 bowls of food for a shelter.

8. Little Darling’s Pinups for Pitbulls

Breed education and advocacy organization Pinups for Pitbulls chose a Norman Rockwell theme for its 2013 calendar to celebrate the family bond, just as the famous artist once did. Photographer Celeste Giuliano took the charming images for the calendar.

9. Pets Rock

Luke Skywalker, Justin Bieber, Mr. T, Katy Perry, and Spock are among the pop culture icons depicted by dogs, cats, and other furry animals in this calendar. It delivers dates and other information in six languages — English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Dutch — making it an excellent gift for friends elsewhere in the world.

10. Dogs

Based on the best-selling book of the same name by photographer Tim Flash, the calendar also celebrates the rich diversity of man’s best friend. Gorgeous dogs. Gorgeous photography.
