I received a message about a dog found in a college parking lot in Decatur, GA by one of the students. I found the letter to be very touching, read it and I think you’ll understand.

The dog found may be pregnant and unless a temporary foster home or forever home can be found she will be put down. It’s so sad to think that her unborn babies will never even get a chance at life because the person she depended on to care for her didn’t deem her worthy of saving.

Hi DL,

My name is R****** R***, and I am a sophomore here at Agnes Scott. I remember once seeing you walking your dog on the Agnes Scott campus.

Seeing as how your not only a member of the Agnes Scott community, but a part of the larger Decatur area, I thought I may email you about this.

It may be overstepping a little, but, as a dog lover, I couldn’t help but let you know.

A female dog was found this morning (Wednesday April 15) in the Agnes Scott parking garage. As she was wearing no collar, public safety (after a couple hours) called the DeKalb County Animal Services.

The dog had black fur and was medium in size. I took her photo before she was taken away and have attached it to this email. Although she was very frightened, she did know all of her commands and was very sweet and thus it is likely she has a family who is missing her greatly.

I have a dog at home and know that I often times recognize other dogs from seeing them out walking with their owners. I figured maybe you would recognize this dog or hear of someone within Decatur that is missing a dog.

I apologize for bothering you on this issue unrelated to Agnes Scott student life. I just know that if my dog was lost, I would be very devastated. I hope this dog is able to find her way home.

Thanks for looking at the picture and keeping in mind that a lost medium sized black female dog was found at Agnes Scott in the parking garage on April 15.

Thanks much,

R****** R***

When I read the letter I could feel the concern from the student who wrote it. Although she doesn’t have the resources to care for the dog she felt the need to try and reach out to someone who may be able to help. I’m sure as a student she has a lot on her plate, but yet she took the time to try and help this dog.

The adoption coordinator has just sent out an email with a plea for help, this beautiful dog doesn’t have much time left. If anyone can help here is the contact information:
