Last week the Dog Blog ran an exclusive sneak peek of the canine star of the newly released movie, Beginners. A few years ago, the animal trainer who was behind the talents of the dog on Frasier rescued a Jack Russell terrier from a shelter. She named him Cosmo, and enfolded him into her family.
Cosmo, now 9, has really made a name for himself. And he’s a poster pup for rescued dogs everywhere. Mathilde de Cagny could have just as easily obtained Cosmo from a breeder. But she chose not to go that well-trodden path.
I know there a great many Dogsters who are also chose the rescue route over the buying route. Hats off to you for saving your dogs’ lives!
Do you by chance have photos of your pride and joy? (LOL) Submit your favorite to a contest being run by the cool website/magazine, GOOD, and the producers of Beginners. You’ll be helping spread the word about adoption, and giving your doggy some limelight with a whole new group of people: Folks in the GOOD community will be voting for their favorite dog. The three entrants with the most votes will receive the grand prize:
Here’s a video invitation from writer/director Mike Mills himself.
