Hey Joy! Rosie and I wanted to bark about our pal Jay Jay. He is participating in an event called “Barks on the Boards” to raise money for the Humane Society of Ocean City New Jersey. Dogsters are posting on his thread that they are sending contributions. Last year he and his mom raised $250. They hope to break that this year.

We are participating in the Dog Walk for the shelter that rescued us, the Durham APS We are so proud of little Jay Jay that we decided to donate our Dog Walk funds to the APS in his name.

Go Jay Jay go!!!

And Jay-Jay wrote in too.

Hi Joy!
Rosie & Isabel just woofed me that they woofed you about my doggie fundraiser event that is coming up! Those two woofettes are both worthy of their presidential positions aren’t they!!!!!

In case you decide to put it in the blog I wanted to give ya a little more info. The event “Barks on the Boards 2006.” It will be held May 27, and benefits to Humane Society of Ocean City, NJ (HSOC) a truly no-kill shelter! I have a thread over on Dogster that has all the information, the title is “Jay-Jay is walking in the Barks on the Boards 2006 event!” It gives you all the information about the shelter (website, etc.) This is the 3rd year of the walk and my 2nd time participating, and lemme woof ya, it sure is a fun time and we love helping out this wuffderful shelter!

Wuv & Licks,
Jay-Jay

Here’s more info about the event from The Courier Post Online.

Pets stroll the boards

“Barks on the Boards,” a pet walk on the Ocean City Boardwalk Saturday will raise funds for the city’s “no kill” Humane Society. Registration starts at 11 a.m. at the Sports and Civic Center, 6th Street off the Boardwalk. Dogs and their best friends will stroll the boards from noon to 2 p.m.

The event gives owners a rare opportunity to walk their pets on the Boardwalk. (The city usually only allows pets on the boards at the annual Doo Dah Parade.)

After the walk, an awards ceremony is in front of the Sports and Civic Center, with prizes given for best dressed, most unusually dressed, intelligent pet tricks and other categories.

Elvis performer Ted Prior will sing canine favorites in front of the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace, during the walk. Cost is $15. Call (609) 525-9000.

Jay-Jay, I looked for your thread and couldn’t find it. Please give us all a link to it!

Good luck to all of you and have fun!

Update! Jay-Jay wrote int o let us know that the event this year starts at Music Pier. Sorry for the confusion! Thanks Jay-Jay for setting me straight!
