When we were gone on vacation to Montreal earlier this month, my daughter called our house to talk to Jake a couple of times. My hubby put the phone to Jake’s ear, and he apparently sat there stock still and completely expressionless. (Jake, not my husband.)

You could interpret that reaction one of two ways: 1) Jake was listening intently or 2) He was making a list of the things he had to do that day. I prefer Option 1.

It got me to wondering: How many of you have called home while gone from the house for a while so your dog could hear your voice? This is a completely unscientific poll, so you can answer with anything from a simple “Me!” to a long account of what you say and how your dog reacts (if a human is on the other end to tell you). I have a feeling I know how this will turn out, but let’s play the game anyway!
