I wanted to bring your attention to a really brave little dog on Dogster named Princess Nya Cuddles. Just the other day she saved her Mom from a man who smashed their window at a stop light and tried to steal her purse! This little dog managed to fend the assailant off. I think it’s great that we have a hero in our midst.

Here’s Princess Nya Cuddles’diary entry for that day.

I’m a hero?!?!?!?!?!April 3rd 2007 10:54 pm

So, today my sis and I were on our way to the super stick store. I was out of super sticks, and I’ve become addicted to them. I can’t live without ’em. We were low on treats, too. So, anyways, we’re in the car, and we got to a part of our route where there was a detour for construction. Does my sister follow the detour? Of course not! She made her own detour — to “avoid traffic” she said. She’s like me — has a little bit of a problem with authority. She took this long and winding detour to “save time” she said. We wound up in a not too good of a neighborhood.

In the meantime, I’d managed to wriggle out of my car seat again. I knew if my sister found out, she’d pull over and put me back in it, so I just laid low on the back seat, thinking I’d suprise her when we got to the store. I just LOVE to suprise her that way!

So, there we are, in this kinda rough neighborhood, stopped at a red light. All of a sudden, this guy came and broke a window on our car. Can you believe that? He broke the window on MY car. Then he was reaching in for my sister’s purse. I only had an instant to think about it, but it didn’t take that long. No purse = no money. No money = no super sticks. Have I mentioned before that I LOVE super sticks? I can’t live without ’em! So, I did the only thing I could think of — I leapt into the front seat, growled, and tried to bite him. I missed, but I got part of his shirt. He yelped like a puppy and ran away. I was gonna follow him, but my sister grabbed me before I could get out of that dang window! We went to the police department to file a police report, and my sister was still shaking and stuff. The only evidence was the piece of shirt I got, but the policeman let me keep it for a “souvenir”. She kept telling the policeman that I’d never shown any agression before, and the policeman told her I was just protecting her, not to worry about it ’cause I’m not mean. Nope. I’m not mean, and I wasn’t protecting her. I was protecting the purse. Gotta have those super sticks!

So, my sis calmed down and we finished the trip to the store. Couldn’t be without the super sticks after all that, my sis said. My sister said I was a hero and let me have ANYTHING I wanted. Anything I sniffed was mine. I got toys, treats, and eight super sticks.

Maybe I need to find that guy so we can do it all again . . .

Woofs and Wags,
Nya
