Check Out The Newest Dog Each Day Star!

Eddie Essig barked in to the Dog Blog Bark Out Group to let us all know that his brother is featured today on Dog Each Day! Congratulations Sgt. Earnie Bilko Essig!

My brudder Earnie, better known as “Old Mr. Stuffy Pants”, is gonna be a star. He’s going to be drawn by artist Larry Merrill and featured on his Dog Each Day website on Friday, November 17th.

We’re having problems getting his big swollen head through the door. He’ll really live up to his name now, there’ll be no living with him! Gheez!

Here’s what Earnie and Eddie’s furparents said:

Earnie, our 9 year old Husky-Shepherd mix, is formally named after the character on the classic Phil Silvers show, Sgt. Earnie Bilko-Essig. Earnie was saved from a SPCA shelter at 6 weeks old. At about 6 months old, Earnie began having problems with his back leg which kept coming dislocated and the condition was corrected with surgery. He loves to go for rides and goes to the Outer Banks, NC with us and loves to go on the beach. Earnie takes his position of Neighborhood Watch extremely seriously. He is Patriarch to his 3 siblings and they all adore him. Earnie is a loving, caring boy who gives unconditional love and we cant imagine life without Earnie. – David and Kim

I enjoy working with white pencils on darker backgrounds. It reverses the usual process of drawing and forces me to really look at the subject. If you like to draw, give this technique a shot!
