Here’s what’s on the Dog Each Day site about Buddie. Thank you Becky for suggesting Buddie for this honor!

The Budster was thirteen years old and a real sweetie. Unfortunately, he recently became very sick with heart troubles. Buddies Mom stayed with him through a rough fight, but sadly he died in her arms Friday morning, June 30th. I guess there was something about the Budman that just made you wanna hug on himI know his family really loved him. He was listed as a pound mutt/collie-shepherd mix, but I think he was 100 % pure sweetheartso just a suggestion for another dog of the day. – Becky

Its heartbreaking in one sense and heartwarming in another – seeing how many folks have offered their thoughts and prayers to Buddies family (click here to see Buddies Dogster page). Once again, I hope my sketch of Buddie D. Smith can bring some joy to his loving family.

This is a quick sketch from a small picture from Buddies Dogster page. I tried out a new pencil I just purchased – a carbon pencil. Its smoother than a charcoal pencil but much more bold (rich) than graphite and without the graphite sheen. I need to play with it some more, but I like it so far.
