A friend of Dogster Head Hound Ted Rheingold works for this nifty site called 8tracks. It’s a site where you can make your own playlists for free. A few pet lovers have made some dog and cat ones. Here’s one of the doggy genre, from “Btrxz.”
And here’s a playlist called Happy Dog Dozen. “Thoughtful, upbeat alternative with a backbone that happy dogs would listen to if they were inclined to listen to upbeat alternative,” reads the description.

A few years ago I was the executive producer of The Canine Film Festival at the Castro Theatre in San Francisco. It was enormously fun, and we raised $10,000 for PAWS — a great cause! One of my “jobs” was to come up with songs for the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ player to perform before films. I was surprised by how many fun dog songs there are out there!
